Data Protection Statement

Last updated: 8 June 2026

Who we are

Their World Explained ("we", "us") provides personalised 1:1 sessions to help parents understand their children's digital world. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this statement. You can reach us at hello@theirworldexplained.com.

What we collect

When you contact us or complete the quiz, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and mobile number
  • The message and quiz answers you choose to share with us
  • Basic technical data (e.g. IP address, browser type) for security and analytics

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a session
  • To prepare relevant guidance based on the apps, devices, and concerns you mention
  • To keep our service secure and prevent spam (e.g. via the verification check)

Our lawful bases are your consent (when you tick the consent box) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our service.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We only share it with trusted service providers that help us run our website and communicate with you (for example, email and hosting providers), all bound by appropriate confidentiality and data protection terms.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond and provide our service, and then for a reasonable period for our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

Under applicable data protection law (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theirworldexplained.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take your privacy seriously.

Changes

We may update this statement from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
